Yes indeed it is possible to wear them in city shoes, for this it is necessary to have insoles with greater durability installed by a good shoemaker; the buffalo soles specially adapted for parquet floors would wear on bitumens, concretes ...

How should I feel in my shoes ?
How should I feel in my shoes ?
How can I wash my competition dress without damaging it?
How can I wash my competition dress without damaging it?

Show dresses and competition dresses are made of precious and delicate materials and often embellished with sequins and / or rhinestones, braids, fringes ... For these reasons, they are indicated "Do not wash".

However, it seems essential to wash them regularly because of the sweat that permeates the fabric and can deteriorate the fibers in the long run.

To wash the dress it is better to do it yourself, the dyers often do not take care of this kind of delicate work (with some exceptions).

as a general rule, it is advisable to wash only the areas most exposed to sweat and to avoid the rest of the dress unless the fabric needs to be "refreshed".

The fabric supports the stain remover in a spray or bottle (K2R, scarlet water, Dylon ...) for the dirtiest places otherwise the best is to wash in the bathtub, quickly (do not soak!) With laundry detergent delicate.

Decorations / rhinestones / Glue

Please note: The rhinestones and decorations attached to the outfits are often attached with special vinyl fabric glue.

This glue is used because it remains flexible and allows decorations to better "follow" the movement and the deformations that the material undergoes during movements. On the other hand, it has a disadvantage; it rehydrates when in the presence of moisture.

Some advice:

Do not keep the outfits with you when you leave the track, but take them off and let them dry on a hanger.

Do not let the clothes soak during washing, but put them to dry on a hanger as soon as washed

Fringes

Caution: The fringes if they are too rubbed can fray. therefore avoid washing them or protect them in a plastic bag when washing the dress.

Colors

The brightly colored dance fabrics can get wet during washing and / or make halos. So wash in cold water and gently.

Feathers / Boas

Avoid washing feathers as much as possible; the hairs remaining bonded if they are soaked. You can gently clean them with a damp sponge.

If your boa really needs to be washed, you can after cleaning dry it in the hair dryer so that it regains its volume.

Is it essential to have special shoes for dancing?
Is it essential to have special shoes for dancing?

For the practice of ballroom dancing, there is no obligation to wear dance shoes, however, dance shoes are designed to provide:

-Better support
-A greater freedom in the work of the foot, which makes the dance easier
-Better gliding thanks to the buffalo soles

It is therefore specially recommended if you are looking for comfort and ease as well as if you want to practice dancing a certain number of hours in a row, to wear dance shoes.

Note 1: It is also possible if you want to use a city shoe model with which you want to dance, to put buffalo soles. (see related products below)

Note 2: If you do not want to damage your dance shoes, there are also work shoes, for training sessions and rehearsals which if they are less elegant, nevertheless allow the foot to work with less fatigue.

For men, see the section: "Men's shoes / Education"

For women, see the section: "Women's shoes / Education"

For the practice of sports dances, it is essential to practice with competition shoes; even if for training one can wear Sneakers with two soles if one targets a specific work which excludes the work of legs and foot. The footwork is really different when wearing competitive dance shoes or when wearing Sneakers.

For Sneakers, see the section: "Sneakers / ..."

Note 3: You can wear your competition shoes when training which are no longer presentable because they are too worn. It is always possible to change the buffalo soles to make the shoes last longer.

Note 4: For women, you can also dye your shoes in black flesh-colored satin; which will give them a sharper appearance than worn satin. (see section "Accessories for shoes")

Other questions about the replacement buffalo sole:

-Are the soles self-adhesive?
-Is it necessary to use a shoemaker for this re-sowing work?
-Is there a special preparation of the original soles before laying and gluing the new ones?

Answers:

The soles are raw, you can do the installation work yourself if you want to stick the sole over the old one.

The procedure to follow is as follows:

Thoroughly clean the old soleplate by removing dust, grease, wax, dirt ... which may have gotten into the soleplate (you can use a metal pad and a degreaser.
Allow the soleplate to dry after cleaning.
Glue the surfaces to be assembled with contact adhesive (neoprene adhesive)
Let dry slightly, the glue should be dry on contact.
Assemble the surfaces by pressing hard; the ideal is to maintain the pressure for drying.
Let dry 24 hours.
Cut the excess soles with a cutter.
If you want to replace the sole rather than gluing it over the old one, it is best to entrust the work to the shoemaker.
